RIVER SAFETY ADVISORY
Now that the rain has cease and it is sunny and warm, the Sheep River can seem very inviting to some people. After swimmers were spotted on the river Monday, Fire Services would like to warn about the dangers along the riverbanks and in the river itself.
The river is muddy and it is difficult to see what lies below. There are numerous branches and fallen trees people could get caught on or under. Even those very familiar with swimming or using the river for recreation need to stay away.
Please stay off the river until it is safe for public use. It is not yet known where all the dangers are. Sign, fencing, and barricades have been put in place on paths and warnings MUST be obeyed.
